Enrollment

To complete registration, parents or guardians must provide the following standard documents:

• Proof of Residency: A recent utility bill (gas, electric, or water), lease agreement, or mortgage statement displaying your name and current address within district boundaries.
• Proof of Age: Official birth certificate, passport, or court-issued guardianship document.
• Immunization & Health Records: Up-to-date state-required immunization records signed by a healthcare provider.
• Academic Records: Official transcripts or final report card from the student's previous school (for grades 1–12).

The school your child attends depends on what grade they are in. Riverdale Elementary is for grades K-5, Riverdale Middle is for grades 6-8, and Riverdale High is for grades 9-12.

Riverdale USD offers an online pre-registration process through the Riverdale Parent Portal, where you can fill out forms and upload digital copies of required documents. However, a final in-person visit to your assigned school's main office is required to verify original identification documents and sign the enrollment agreement.

While Riverdale USD accepts new students year-round, we strongly encourage families to complete enrollment by July 15 for the upcoming fall semester. Registering early guarantees placement at your neighborhood school and ensures your student receives class schedules and bus transportation arrangements prior to the first day of school.

During the online registration process, check the option indicating that your child currently receives specialized services and upload a copy of their current IEP, 504 Plan, or ELL assessment. Once enrollment is submitted, a representative from the Riverdale USD Student Services Department will contact you to review the plan and schedule an intake meeting before classes start.

To safeguard student technology, Riverdale USD offers an optional Chromebook Device Protection Plan for $25 per student per school year. This coverage protects families against unexpected expenses resulting from accidental damage, cracked screens, liquid spills, loss, or theft during normal educational use. Without the protection plan, families are responsible for paying a $30 repair fee per incident for accidental damage or the full replacement cost of $280 if a device is lost or stolen.  

Please note that enrollment in this protection plan is only available during the annual enrollment process. Once the enrollment window closes, families can no longer opt into the plan for that academic year. Securing coverage during registration ensures uninterrupted access to learning tools and financial peace of mind whether your child's district-issued Chromebook is being used on campus or at home.
